Yes! Summer vacation is in sight. This is the ideal time to plan a move for many of us. This way, you have plenty of time in packing and moving your things to the new place and enjoy it there for a while before your leave is up. However, you probably didn’t count on one thing: those sweltering temperatures.

We’re not going to beat around the bush: the heat makes moving a lot harder than it should be. Good preparation and structural work are even more important than usual at tropical temperatures. So how can you best tackle this? You will discover that in the moving tips below.

#1 Plan and structure the impending move

Work out a plan of action for the move. For example, how will you pack the moving boxes in a structured way? And how do you know which boxes belong in which room during the move? By mapping these matters in advance and by properly coordinating them during the move, the helping hands can work quickly and efficiently with as little effort as possible.

    #2 Pack well in advance

You have those people who keep an eye on the weather forecast every day. Our tip: become someone like that and adjust your ‘packing moments’ to the predicted temperatures! Try to exert as little effort as possible in warm temperatures. It is best to rest during the hottest part of the day and save your strength for the cooler moments: in the morning or in the evening. To get ready with packing in time, you must start well in advance.

#3 Drink enough water during moving

Water, water. And the rest will come later! On hot days it is important to drink enough water to prevent dehydration. Because a lot of physical effort is made during the move, the moisture in your body will evaporate faster than usual. The result? Your bodily functions are disrupted more quickly, making you feel weak and nauseous. So provide enough (fresh!) water on the day of your move.

#4 Fan with frozen (pet) bottles

A real pro tip, if you ask us: Put refrigerated or frozen bottles in front of a fan while you screw furniture together or apart. The cooled bottles ensure that the breeze will feel fresher.

    #5 Prevent food from spoiling

Try to move as little food as possible. Food spoils quickly in hot weather. Do you still have leftovers in the fridge that you don’t want to throw away? Then move it into a chilled packaging box and put the leftovers in the fridge of your new home as soon as possible on arrival. This is the only way to prevent spoiled food. Click here if you want to buy a chilled packaging box online.

#6 Get enough helping hands for moving

There is a saying, ‘Many hands make light work.’ In this case, it is not a lie. The more helping hands during the move, the smoother the move will go. If you can drum up enough helpers, you can divide the physical effort among several people so that it remains doable for everyone.

    #7 Provide towels

Last but not least: provide enough (small) towels. There will be a lot of sweating during the move. And nothing is more annoying than sweat that you can’t wipe away.

I hope these moving tips help you in moving in hot temperatures. To read more useful articles visit this link.
